i think the only difference between the b16a and b17a is the crankshaft the 1.6 being stroked .1L to make 1.7

correct me if im wrong

WRONG!

the crank, rods and pistons are different from a b16. only the block casting is the same.

this is the info i got from the Zeal Autowerks calculator:

Crank Stroke
B16A - 77.40mm
B17A - 81.40mm

Connecting Rod Length
B16A - 134.00mm
B17A - 132.00mm

Piston Dome.
B16A PR3 - 6.03cc
B16A P30 - 6.93cc
B17A P61 - 0.00cc

PR3 pistons can be used on P61 crank and rods in a b16/17 block. this should net a compression ratio of high 10's. if you bore out the cylinders .5mm (which would be a good idea) and take .25mm off the deck. you should hit 11:1.
